[ the state of affairs in Haven is certainly testament to that... ]
I'm sitting on the doorstep to our housing block... or close to it. If you come by, you'll definitely see me right away. [ a pause. ] I... I would like to see you. I feel badly for disappearing...
[She's not far away, and flying cuts out all those pesky obstacles on the ground. True to her word, Rose appears in minutes, drifting along with her hood down. After days underground with questionable resources she looks the worse for wear, but cogent and grimly satisfied at being...less alone.
One gentle landing before block eight later and she braces herself for Ada's inevitable rush hug.]
[ or maybe not so inevitable - if Ada actually felt like she'd been separated from Rose for a month, she'd be a lot more emotional about it. As things stand, she just feels disoriented - as if she'd woken up from a nap that went on much longer than she'd intended. She does, however, run over to Rose when she spots her, relief apparent on her face at seeing her friend safe. ]
[Rose, on the other hand, knows exactly how long the separation has been, and in the relative privacy of their sundered housing block not-porch she hugs Ada as soon as the latter is in range.]
[ it's a very unexpected action, coming from Rose, and at first, Ada locks up in surprise at the contact. Physical affection? From Rose? Something must be wrong here.
She supposes what's wrong is that she's been gone for so long. The surprise passes, and turns into a touched feeling as she gently returns the hug, resting her head against Rose's. ]
As though you were in control of your disappearance or its length. [Ada tends to react badly to even the slightest brush at criticism so Rose shakes her head.] It isn't your fault for apology.
B-but still! [ Ada releases her gently. ] I know what that feels like...
[ all too well - she's been separated from those she cares about far too many times in her life. It's nobody's fault, but that doesn't change how painful it is. ]
That's quite enough of that. [Rose is smiling, and keeps it gentle; the last thing they need is a host of people taking blame for things outside of their control.] You're here now.
[ she gives Rose her best confident nod; she's right. She's here now. There's no use feeling bad about it any longer. If Rose doesn't mind, neither will she. ]
When I have had reason for a roof and slightly less than four walls, yes, I've...camped in here, I suppose. It feels familiar, if safety is questionable.
[She wanted to use her bed and it's as good a place as any to hide her aches from others.]
Morgan has also been absent. [Both, as a matter of fact. A shadow almost visibly crosses her face at the thought.] I had fear and apathy to keep me company.
[Also known as Pitch and Ange, but, really, the word game and the hint of bitterness she can't erase matter more than Ada's lack of conversational reference.]
[ she takes it as nothing more than a flowery way of saying she's been lonely; her heart sinks. Ada gives her an apologetic look, although she also frowns in concern. ]

But where are you at present? I can join you, if you feel so inclined.

[For just a second, Rose allows herself to look as worn and haggard as she feels.]
